TTS oh my

Audi just relased a new version of the TT. It is an S-line version of the new TT. This car is amazing. It rolls off the showroom floor with 265hp! It has has 258 pounds of torgue. This is an insane jump from the standard version that has 200 hp. It has a 6 speed dual clutch system in it. The coupe model gets from 0-60 in an amazing 4.9 seconds. That would put your back in your seat with no problem at all. It then will proceed to bring you all the way to 155 mph top speed. All of this and it still gets 29 mpg. Does it get any better than this? The car has all this power than still weighs in at a mere 3250 pounds? Talk about some serious power to weight ratio. The rear spoiler comes out at 75 to give you the downward G's you need to hold the optional 19 inch wheels to the ground. An amazing car that starts at 45k.

Research: GTI MKV

The Gti make 5 brought back the sportiness of the GTI. Sure the MKIV was a fun car but it was not nearly as quick as the new GTI. With a top speed of 130 mph, it is fast. It gets from a standstill to 60 in 6.9 seconds. It has a whopping 200 hp and 207 pounds of torgue. That is plenty to surely put a smile on your face. It comes stock with 17 inch wheels and enough badges and differences that you could never get it confused with it's lesser counterpart the Rabbit. It features sport seats. It comes in either a DSG digital shifting system of a six speed manual transmission. The honeycomb grill is a great feature in the front grill that sets a GLI or GTI apart from a standard Jetta or Rabbit. Xenon headlights will help you find your way at night. The GTI has gotten the sportiness back that it had in 1987 when it was first introduced as the Rabbit GTI that later became the golf. The engine is brilliant. It gets 29 miles per gallon on the highway while still having 200 hp.

Clean Diesel Racing

Volkswagen is working on a clean diesel racing series. The car features is the Jetta TDI or (Turbo Diesel Induction). It's in its frist year. Its for young drivers that are not professional. The cars have a zero carbon emission. They have "go green" racing idea. Thye use low sulfur fuel and have a thick enough filter that the carbon will not make it to the air. This is a very pioneer idea and I think it is a great one. The drivers are all young and happy to be in the circuit. One of the drivers has done 2 tours in Iraq. He gave up racing for that period of time but can nowrace again due to this series. Its an amazing series and anyone who reads this should check out the trailer.

Russian Warships to Cuba

The Russian Navy is sending nuclear powered warships to Cuba. It is the first deployment of warships since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. The voyage is widely thought as a show of power since Cuba is only 90 miles form the US. Russia and the Soviet Union have throughout time had huge resurgents of power. It is also seen as a response to the United States aid after Russia invaded Georgia earlier in the year. The US has had an embargo against Cuba since the Soviet Union put nuclear missiles on the island. They were removed in 1962 with a pledge from the US not to invade the island. The ship was carrying $200,000 worth of medicine and supplies for Nicaragua. The world is watching the ships closely as a fear of emerging power to the fromer Soviet Union. The world is wondering is Russia will once again become a world power and global dominance.

Bush gets shoed

During a surprise visit in Iraq, a shoe was throw at president Bush. He was holding a press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki. A man jumped up and yelled "It is a farewell kiss, you dog!" In our country he couldn't be hit with a bullet but in Iraq a man manged to hit him with one of his size 10 shoes. The man was a reporter from Iraq. Right after in Al-Baghdadia, a TV channell, urged authorities to release him immediately "in line with the democracy and freedom of expression that the American authorities promised the Iraqi people." Bush laughs at the situation saying "I dont know what the man said, but I saw his sole." Security as always was intense but shoes were not thought of as weapons so the man slipped in. What a bizzare event.

Suzuki to pull car from WRC

Today was the deadline for the car manufactorers to submit their cars for the race season to the FIA. This is the registration for the World Rally Cross. The company said that it was not because the car wasn't ready but because of economic turmoil. The Japanese based compny said they were going to set their goals to "focus on the core business functions such as the manufacturing system, environment technologies, and development of new-generation powertrains. As a result, Suzuki concluded to suspend the WRC activities from 2009." Suzuki made its appearance frist with the J-WRC or Junior World Rally Cross, taking the title. They then went on to get a fifth place trophy in the WRC. The company said their appearance in a sporty vehicle had greatly increased, especially in the Euorpean market, due to its involvement in the sport.

Research: Audi Quattro

The Quattro is the car that took off for Audi in the rally world. The car was first introduced to the consumer market as the Quattro Coupe and the Quattro GT. Audi was the first company to take advantage of the World Rally Cross to allow four wheel drive systems. Before that they just thought it would be too heavy and complicated. The rally version of the car called the S1 took a win in the first rally it was in. It then took competetion after competition for two years. The original competition version produced 300 bhp. This was incredible at the time. The car was revolutionary and has had a very huge impact on the sport of rallying. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV9lFCGtwMU. This is a video of a man they call the Stig. He drives for a show called Top Gear that is shown on BBC. The show features top end cars and the testing of them.

Research: Lancer Evolution

The Lancer as a base model is just a sport sedan. Take then add a 291 bhp engine with 300 lbs of torgue and you have a monster of an engine under the hood. In Southern California on the Glendora Mountain Road it destroyed an $85,000 Porsche and left a Lotus in the dust. All for a starting price for the GSR or Grand Sport Rally. This may have somehting to do with the Recaro sport seats to hold the driver in place. Or maybe this has to do with the braking ability of the Brembos in the corners. This could also have to do with the AWD system and the aluminum panels throughout the car to keep a lower gravity point and reduce weight. The driver would ahve also have been able to see the road very efficient;y with the HID headlights. With all of these features it is a very good competitor to the Subaru WRX STI.

Research: STI

So I started my researching different cars that have been influenced by rally driving. The STI is a big leader right now in the rally scene. The STI is a car made by Subaru. The full name is the Subaru Impreza WRX STI. The WRX stands for the World Rally Cross. The STI, an even more upgraded model, stands for Subaru Technica International. This is named after the Subaru team who made the world class rally car. "Part race car. Part race car. The new 2009 WRX STI is to rally what carnivore is to meat, bringing its turbocharged 305-hp SUBARU BOXER® engine and 290 lb-ft of torque onto the course." It features Brembo brakes, Recaro seats, and BBS wheels. What a perfect way to take to the streets with real performance. In a 6 speed manual transmission and symmetrical AWD this makes it an amazing rally toy right from the box!

FULL Moon

The moon will be in the biggest form of the full moon tonight. It is the biggest this year. The moon orbits the Earth every 29.5 days. It is on average 238k miles away but will only be about 221k miles away tonight. Beaches will have higher tides due to maginetic pull so there will be more pollution on the beaches as a result. So get out and check out the biggest full moon of the year of wait for 12 more full moons.

MIT Grad.

Joshua Persky was laid off from his job at an investment firm about a year ago. with the slump in the economy his wife and his kids had to moved to his mother and father in law's home. He was trying to find a new job in New York while his family had to move to Nebraska. He set up a sandwich bord on himself saying "Experienced MIT Grad for Hire." He recently landed a job as a Senior Manager at an accounting firm and his family is returning to New York to reunite with him.

Dtetriot Bailout Failed

The big car manufacturers in the Unites States have recently looked for a a bailout now that financial turmoil has set in. Last week a bill was passed to give the car companies fourteen billion dollars almost immediately. The car industry would have a regulator that could take the money back if it was thought that the money was not spent responsibly. The bill was then sent to the Senate who brought in the car industry representetives but were not able to come to an agreement. The Senate says they won't consider another bailout till next year

Big Man in China

An American man, Alonzo Bland, recently won a trip to a weight reduction clinic in China. He was the biggest man admitted to the fat reduction clinic in Tanginia in Northern China. He went in weighing a rediculous 640 pounds. He wighs in now only at 405 pounds. He is down an astonishing 235 pounds. That's like shedding off a large man. He works out three times a day. The workout had to start in a pool because the man was so big. He still remains in China. He wants to come home once he has lost another 180 pounds.

Yet another school is gunned down. This one on the other hand is a bit different. The man who allegedly was responsible for the attack had been spoken to by the police just days prior. The young man of 22 had posted clips of himself firing a handgun on YouTube. It makes me wonder if the handgun is anything more than a human killing machine.
